Hello, my name is Derek! I'm a local Colorado guitarist! I've played for 13 years and I'm mainly self taught. I'm here for anyone whose had a formal lesson and thought it was boring, or saw playing guitar as a mountain that was way too hard for them to climb. If you want music theory, im not your guy. But If you want to be excited to pick up your guitar to practice I will teach you ways to play that are better suited to your goals as a musician. So if you're someone who would like to start playing guitar or someone who has been playing for a while and feels lost, im your guy! I personally play Rock punk and Metal as well as some lofi acoustic stuff. I can teach good habits for rhythm and keeping time but i specialize in teaching leads and solos. My main influence is the man Eddie Van Halen himself. I feel comfortable teaching any style music you want to play and adapt my style quickly.
