Hi there, I Jacob am a very positive upbeat individual who deeply believes that music is the universal language and musical expression reveals the window to one's soul. I have been playing guitar for 16+ years and have been playing lead guitar in a busy gigging band for about 6-7 years. I am very proficient in a number of genres and can improvise fluently. My biggest influences are improvisational artists such as: Trey Anastasio Phish, Herbie Hancock, John Scofield, and anybody who displays passion through their music. My early and still prevalent influences include Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, The Doors, and much more. I also am a proficient songwriter. I am a high school teacher who takes private executive functioning and academic coaching clients, and my experience working with children goes much beyond my classroom teaching experience as I have worked at summer camps and preschool rooms in high school and early college. I can teach guitar to beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners who are looking for new directions. I received a bachelors degree from the University of Maine at Farmington in Psychology with minors in Music, Rehabilitation, and Political Science.
