About Me

Hello-My name is Dave Klingensmith, and I have loved music all my life. I especially enjoy performing music for and with others. It's something I've been doing for over thirty-five years, with bands, choirs, churches, theater groups, ministries, and schools. But I also enjoy helping others explore, learn, and progress in their life with music. That's why it would be a great pleasure and privilege for me to share in your experience with vocal music. Whether you're just starting or building on the foundation you already have, it would be my privilege to assist you in the next steps of your vocal training. My approach to voice instruction includes a mixture of three things: 1. Identifying & Reinforcing Principles common to every person's voice how does the voice work, what helps or hinders good sound production & projection, why/how proper airflow & pronunciation matter, how to keep a voice healthy & strong 2. Exploring & Discovering the Uniqueness of your voice its strengths, characteristics, & areas for growth, and exploring what styles & genres of music make it SING...pun intended There's only one, unique you. So, our lessons together will also need to be uniquely designed. 3. Developing & Expanding your Range of skills, vocal note range, and range of repertoire establishing exercises & rehearsal routines, listening to identify what is going well & what needs more work, preparing songs/pieces to perform Again, it would be my privilege to share in your musical journey and development.
