Ben G.

My name is Ben and I began playing music at a young age. My primary instrument and first love is the guitar, and I have over thirteen years of playing experience. I am also educated in music theory through school and college curriculum. I was an active band member and choir singer throughout college, which formalized my love for organized music. Post college, and since I entered the military, I have started writing and performing original songs in and around the Washington DC area. My primary influences as a guitarist are country and blues. I have around two years of experience as a freelance guitar teacher, and additional teaching experience from a long term substitutemusic teacher that I held during college. I would describe my style as adaptable to the student, as I believe that exploring a student's interests and applying theoretical concepts to music they already love is the foundation for long term musical development.
