Hello, My name is Darrah, I’ve been playing music since age 12. I started on clarinet and soon after picked up guitar, piano, and others. In 2018, I began my studies at Texas State University for Sound Recording Technology. As part of my major, I studied classical guitar, music theory, and audio engineering. I have experience performing live with bands, working in recording studios as both audio engineer/producer and musician, live sound mixing, on set sound mixer for films, mixing and mastering music, as well as sound design and composition for film. I have a passion for music and audio engineering and would love to teach others.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Curriculum is dependent on the student’s focus and beginning skill level. I can teach classical guitar, acoustic guitar, and/or electric guitar. We will focus on technique, reading music (I can teach both tab and notation), counting different time signatures, theory, and composition.
What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Depending on the student’s focus and skill level, we will learn micing techniques in both a live sound and studio setting, signal flow, DAWs (I prefer teaching ProTools because it is industry standard but I am open to teach other DAWs), live sound mixing, post-production mixing for music and film, and more. The specific curriculum would be dependent on what the student would like to focus on. The student will have chances to observe me in recording sessions at a professional recording studio as well as live mixing environments to get hands on experience.
