Walter R. Bl.-

I started studying music at the age of 7.  I studied at the Springfield Conservatory of Music.  While in High School I studied privately with Fred Kerr who had studied with Shoenberg.  He taught me about jazz and composition and 12 tone music. I was born into a family of writers, musicians, painters, tv producers etc.  I was always surrounded by art. My grandmother who was a painter and musician nurtured my love for the arts.

After high school, I studied at the Berklee College of Music.  My major was composition.  I transferred to Emerson College because I also loved creative writing.  While at Emerson College I got the opportunity to write the music for a tv series called Brotherlove which was the first sitcom produced by African Americans in history.  I also wrote the music for Black News which was the first television news program in history about african americans long before BET.  I also wrote the music for a tv series called Infinity Factory which was a PBS network series that won an Action for Children's Television award and reviewed in Time Magazine.  It was the first time in television history that a Latino was an Executive Producer for a television series.  I also am the only musician listed on the cd from the HBO television series OZ.  I worked on one of the tracks. 

Currently I have a recording contract for the release of my new cd which will be a worldwide release.  Scheduled for the end of August release.
