About Me

Hello there! My name is Amara, and I'm a classically trained singer from Washington. I fell in love with music when I started choir at eight years old, and I haven't stopped singing since! I was primarily self-taught until the age of 16, when I began studying opera with a local teacher. I have since studied under several different instructors, and have completed a year of study in classical voice at BYU-Idaho. While my main focus is opera, I also enjoy singing and teaching broadway, jazz, and pop. Among other things, my performance experience includes classical singing competitions, musical theatre, and university choir. My teaching style focuses on helping students develop a strong foundation in the principles of beautiful singing, which can then be applied to a wide range of vocal styles. I can help students prepare audition and performance pieces in a variety of languages, and I can teach lessons in both English and Spanish.
