Hi, my name is Dylan. I am a student at Georgia Southern University. I have been a student of music for 1 year. I’ve been self-taught for 3 years. My musical influences include Metal, Folk, Punk, Blues, and pop. My teaching style can best be described as learning what you love. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I teach my students how to play the songs they love while teaching why it works so that one day they’ll be able to write from the heart. In my lessons, you can expect to learn to read music, technique, scales, and music theory. I like to tell my students to challenge themselves. My favorite thing about teaching is watching my students finally make connections between music theory and playing. My favorite performance was when I played my audition for the Gretsch School of Music. My students love that I have patience and passion in my teaching. I primarily teach technique, soloing, and rhythm playing, but I can also teach many styles of music. My approach as a teacher is to allow my students to choose songs they love to learn from.
