About Me

My first real instrument was drums! Before that, always loved playing with toy guitars as a child and the karaoke machine from Toy Story. I was given my first drum set in 5th grade. I fell in love with the sound of the drums. In middle school, I decided to pick up a real guitar and teach myself. Shortly after, I formed a band with my best friends and played covers of our favorite bands such as AC/DC, Queen, The Beatles, and others. In high school, I joined the marching band and that opened many doors for me. I was introduced to a whole new world of drums and percussion. I became a leader of the group early on which ultimately led to my decision to study music in college. While studying music education at California State University Northridge, I also participated in Drum Corps International which gave me the opportunity to travel and perform all around the country. During my college years, I studied classical and orchestral percussion along with Latin, Afro, and Middle Eastern styles. Additionally, I have worked at multiple high schools as a primary percussion instructor and composer.
