About Me

Hi, my name is, and I am a Guitar, Bass guitar, and Drum instructor from Bakersfield, CA. I have been a musician for 22 years. My musical influences include Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, and Black Sabbath and I also enjoy jazz, blues, reggae, Latin, and classical. My teaching style can best be described as comprehensive and at times, challenging, yet energetic and goal oriented. My Teaching philosophy can best be described in this quote, “Smooth-sailing NEVER made a skilled sailor.” If you want to sharpen your mind and build an ear for music, a dull knife won't make the cut. So you have got to be ready to be challenged and at times, make a committed effort to set apart time for practice. Time put in learning your musical instrument, is time invested and well spent. We move at a steady pace. A certain degree of proficiency is required before moving into the next lesson. Keep in Mind: Lack of initiative and effort will result in discontinued future lessons. I take my teachings very seriously. Please don’t waste your time, nor mine. I consider myself a fun-professional. I will hold you to a higher standard of learning all the while providing a fun and safe environment. You can expect to learn various genres of music; blues, jazz, Latin, rock n roll and more! I like to tell my students that hard work truly pays off. My favorite thing about teaching is watching my students master a new skill and seeing that “light bulb” moment in their face. My favorite performance was at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA on Sept 13, 2014, with my then-band, Here By Fate. We played alternative rock with a hint of psychedelic vibes. My students love that I am very involved in their learning and growth. I am highly proficient in Acoustic and Electric guitar ,bass guitar and Drums. As a teacher, i will assess your “learning style” and align my teaching to the learning style of my students-Auditory, Tactical or Visual learning.
