About Me
Hello! My name is Keturah, and I have been teaching music lessons for about six years now. I have had the privilege of working with over sixty children in this time, ages 4-17. I truly enjoy meeting and building relationships with the students and dedicating time to finding out how they best learn, and I can’t wait to meet your students and do the same for them!
Keturah H. is proficient in and teaches Keyboard and Piano Lessons, Orchestral Lessons .
Formal Education:
I was homeschooled all the way from kindergarten through high school, and I truly loved it! The independent spirit I gained from being homeschooled drove me to desire a job where I could continue being independent, and I began teaching lessons from my own business at fifteen!
Private Education:
I have been formally trained in classical music on multiple instruments beginning at the age of five, and continued with this all through school.
Performing Experience:
I was blessed to be able to participate in the Youngstown Symphony Symphonette for three years, as well as in the Youngstown Symphony Youth Orchestra for three years. I also spent a lot of time, particularly in my high school years, performing in recitals, for auditions, in the Solo and Ensemble Program, and for various churches and nursing homes.
Experience Teaching:
I began teaching at the age of fifteen, and over the years I have honed my skills to create a general lesson plan that I follow for music lessons which is both structured and also flexible in order to accommodate the abilities, past experience, and learning styles. Being able to work with each child individually is one of my great joys; I love the challenge of finding a way for my lessons to make sense to each of them in the way they need.
