Cali began playing in the orchestra at the age of 15 and has been labeled a natural musician from a young age. She holds a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music from the University of Arkansas, where she was a graduate teaching assistant. She has performed with a variety of ensembles including symphony, band, Latin ensemble, works music groups, Japanese music, electronic music, jazz, and more. Cali has extensively researched Japanese and indigenous music and was a regular participant in the Shakuhachi Camp of the Rockies in Loveland, CO. Cali’s love of world music and history gives her a diverse, open-minded, and inclusive method of teaching. Cali’s private lessons focus on technical fundamentals, ear training, theory, repertoire, history, and goal setting. Cali composes original Songs with a mix of live and electronic instruments with vocals and effects. Cali has been described as a passionate, patient, and supportive teacher. She individualizes each lesson to cater to how each student learns and their personal and professional goals.
