About Me

Hello. My name is Jace, and I am a certified music nerd. I am a proficient vocalist, having been part of all of my school's choir programs for as long as I remember, including participating in VA district choir for every year available at my high school. Enrollment in districts requires rigorous testing of the singer's ability, including sight reading of sheet music, music theory, vocal range, and memorization of a preselected song to be sung in front to a panel of judges. During my high school years, I was part of an advanced class which took a deep dive into Jazz music, which I have grown to absolutely adore with its nontraditional tempo and old-school feel. During performances of our Jazz selections, I often had opportunities to sing solo, which was always a fun way to strut my stuff and stand out from the crowd. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, my Junior and Senior years of school were completely devoid of opportunities to traditionally perform music. The best I've been able to do is singing at karaoke nights, with friends, or singing in the shower. But with the world finally getting back to some type of normal, I would like to take music a bit more seriously. My goal here is to instill a love for music into the next generation, as well as get back into the rhythm of life myself. My goals are to spark someone's passion and creativity in the realm of music by honing in on the basics of Music Theory. I look forward to teaching and learning with my students!
