Hello, my name is David, and I am a saxophone/piano instructor. I have experience managing middle school classes and tutoring young adults, as well as extensive experience on my primary instrument. I am currently studying music at a collegiate level, and my primary focus is being a well-rounded instructor. I have a solid grasp of music theory, classical, postmodern music and contemporary jazz. My students will be able to select their primary focus that I am knowledgeable in, with lessons focused not only around improvement of skill but around cultivating a student’s understanding of their desired focus.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
For my keyboard and piano students, beginners can expect to learn basic piano technique with an enhanced focus on how to read music. For more advanced students, I prefer to use the fundamentals they have established to move into chordal structure and analysis. This helps students to be adaptable and understand music beyond just playing through a piece.
What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
In my lessons focusing on woodwind instruments, students can expect to learn the fundamentals of sound and producing a quality tone on either saxophone or clarinet. Once that is achieved, or for more intermediate students, basic jazz and pop theory is an integral aspect of playing the saxophone professionally. Students can expect to work based on their personal pathway; I am very familiar with the standard saxophone repertoire in classical and band music, if that is preferred.
