I began playing the piano at age 10, spent several years in band before graduating from school and have continued to play off and on throughout the years.
Kathryn D. has over 15 years of music experience in the Tacoma area.

Beginner -
Lessons clude the basics of piano playg -Practice time for songs chosen by the student. -troductory music theory. -Scales -Chords -Sight readg sheet music. -Ear Trag. Dynamic student driven lessons are loosely structured and student driven. There are only so many subjects which can be accomplished per lesson and students can mostly choose what order to address those subject.
Formal Education:
Kathryn's formal musical education includes several years of piano instruction from Yamaha music school, jazz band, and then marching band.
Performing Experience:
I have not performed for over two decades. While I was actively in band I performed almost weekly at local basketball games, in local parades, and on stage at events like graduations and providing music dance performances.
Experience Teaching:
My Teaching exerience includes multiple subjects, not just music. I have taught introductory piano, percussion (multiple instruments including kit drums, bass, cymbols, xylephone, etc), guitar, and ukelele off and on since 1996. I no longer teach guitar and ukelele. In addition to music I have learned over 25 forms of dance and taught six of them. Additionally, I have experience as a private tutor teaching English, English as a Foreign Languagh, Spanish, World History, Mathematics (multiple levels), general science, Chemistry, Introductory Physics, and Biology.
