About Me

Hi, my name is Elise and I am a Bassist from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have been a student of music for 10 years. My musical influences include rock, punk, ska, reggae, jazz, blues, classic rock, essentially, I love everything under the sun. My favorite musical artists include but are not limited to : Sublime, No Doubt, Jimmi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Korn, and so much more. My teaching style can best be described as, structured, easygoing, and most importantly, fun! My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I understand what it is like to be in the students perspective, and how scary and frustrating it can get after a few mistakes, I’m here to help and support your growing passion for music. In my lessons, you can expect to learn the basics, history, anatomy of an instrument, the culture of music, tablature, and how to succeed on your own eventually without the need of lessons. I like to tell myself, No Rain No Flowers; which to me means without mistakes and failures, we cannot grow into our full potential. My favorite thing about teaching is being able to help pass on the knowledge and happiness being a musician brings someone on a daily basis. My favorite performance was probably on Halloween 2023, my band and I were playing Night of the Living Cover Bands and we had amazing guests come on stage to perform with us, it is definitely a show I will never forget. I primarily teach Bass Guitar, but I can also teach Violin. My approach as a teacher is to make it as stress free for you as possible and to just have fun because that is what music is all about!
