Barbara Leo.

Barbara was a music student at UW LaCrosse before coming out to LA to attend Musician's Institute in Hollywood. Barbara remained in LA working in numerous bands spanning a wide variety of musical styles including blues, rock, county, surf, and even Persian music! With "The California Girls", an all female surf band, she's opened for the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean and Steppin Wolf. She has also toured extensively performing overseas for the troops. She currently works with impressionist Greg London, with whom she has performed in the West End of London, Reno and currently here in Las Vegas.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: making sure the student has a solid foundation in open chords, strumming and picking before moving on to reading, bar chords and blues or whatever else they'd like to study.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: seeing how well you know all the open chords, proper musical terminology, how your sense of rhythm is, if you read music on guitar or another instrument, what your strengths or weaknesses may be, and what you're interested in learning.

My influences evolved and changed throughout my career- from rock guys such as Randy Rhoads, to jazz guys like John Scofield and Scott Henderson, to blues players like Stevie Ray Vaughn and Robin Ford, to country player and teacher Steve Travato, and surf guitarist Dick Dale.
