About Me

I have played piano since I was 11 years old. I began by playing hymns in my church congregation at that age and played organ for our church meetings for many years. Before piano, I started with trumpet and continued to play until I graduated high school. I have never taught formal lessons, but I have had much practice teaching chords, songs, and music theory to my peers and fellow students who either already played or did not play at all. I have served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I have learned how to teach with kindness, patience, understanding, and with simpleness. Music is a central part of my life besides my family and religion. I am very expressive in the way I play music. I know how to learn music exactly how it is written, and I also know even better how to make it my own. I am well versed in improvising and sight reading. I love to play music that I listen to, being alternative and pop. I am eager to spread the gift of playing the piano and would love to work here.
