Hi, my name is Katherine and I am a vocalist from Burbank, CA. I have been a student of music for 24 years. My musical influences include G.F. Handel and I also enjoy Mo-town and 80’s New Wave music. My teaching style can best be described as warm and encouraging. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that everyone can sing, and there’s musical ability in us all. In my lessons, you can expect to learn beautiful tone, breath control, musicality, and strong performance skills. I like to tell myself my students are part of my musical growth and journey. My favorite thing about teaching is sharing the things I love about music. My favorite performance was touring South Korea with The New Choir as a soloist and choral ringer. My students love that I do not give up on them. I primarily teach voice, but I can also teach beginning piano, music theory, and music history. My approach as a teacher is to listen above all else.
