Carter W. is proficient in and teaches Bass Guitar Lessons .What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
If you know absolutely nothing about the bass guitar and want to begin to understand the role and purpose of this instrument, I will take you all the way from the basic anatomy and components of the bass, to playing simple and effective bass lines that will give you the building blocks caple of supporting a band. After my introductory course a student can expect to understand the basics of harmony, time, rhythm, feel, and groove. If you've been playing bass for a couple of years and you feel like you already have the basics down, I will teach you the nuances and minutiae that every great bass player needs to understand in order to write fantastic bass lines. In my intermediate course I teach slap, functional harmony, modes, scales, and most importantly, the discipline required to build efficient practice sessions, understand chord charts and how to read music, and how to listen to the musicians around you in order to make good choices on your instrument. If you're an advanced player, you'll find growth and enrichment in your already superior playing. In my advanced course, I teach complex soloing methods, modal exercises to maximize your speed and accuracy, and the music theory behind complicated pieces of music. You will learn polyrhythm, poly meter, and how to write, play, and solo in odd time signatures. You will take your bass playing to the unconventional and dive into the touch, feel, and technique that turns a great bass player into a fantastic bass player. With all of my lessons I teach and educate about equipment as well as technique. To be a good musician you must know your tools, and I will teach you the ins and outs of amplifier technology, pedals and effects, proper care and maintenance to your instrument and equipment, and how to craft your sound to ensure you get hired for any gig. You will learn about the spectrum of equalization, compression, recording techniques and basics, how to speak respectfully and efficiently to a sound engineer, and ultimately how to get the most out of the bass in your hands
