Hi, my name is Samuel, and I am a double bassist from NY, now living in PA. I have been playing music since I was 8 years old. My musical influences include classical and folk and I also enjoy jazz. My teaching philosophy is that I focus on what my students want to achieve rather than forcing them to fit into a specific box. I like to tell my students "you don't have to be perfect, you only need to try and be better than you were yesterday". My favorite thing about teaching is seeing my students succeed. I primarily teach double bass, but I can also teach beginning violin and viola. My approach as a teacher is to work with my students and their families to meet the goals that they want to achieve, rather than force my own standards upon them.
