About Me
Cary has been writing and performing his original songs and instrumentals for over 20 years. He has a BM in Music Education and an MA in Educational Technology. He has taught students from his own guitar instruction program since the late 80's
He is a trained instrumental and vocal teacher, specializing in pop and classical styles in guitar, voice, bass and keyboard.
For guitar instruction he uses his own pedagogy in The Complete Guitar personal instruction program that consists of a book, CD and web-based application that includes examples of music studied as well as instruction tips.
Cary Whi. has over 25 years of music experience in the Boise area.
Cary Whi. is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Bass Guitar Lessons, Keyboard and Piano Lessons, Vocal Lessons, Song Writing Lessons .Formal Education:
BM in Music Education, mastery in guitar. MA in Eductational Technology
Private Education:
Worked with masters George Thomason for 5 years; Gordon Rowland for 10 years.
Performing Experience:
Played rhythm rock guitar for Hogajeffe in 1975; rhythm guitar for Sparticus and Truth from 1976-1977. Worship band leader and arranger for Dayspring, 1981-83.
Played weddings, parties and receptions as a solo classical guitarist, performing duets on occasion with some lovely lady or another from 1987-95.
He has been performing solo guitar/voice gigs in the Treasure valley from 1997 to present.
Experience Teaching:
Cary began teaching in all of the local music stores in Boise in 1983 then moved to the public schools to teach full time in Meridian Idaho as a Music Specialist. He developed the first version of The Complete Guitar in 1987, with a revision and CD added in 1993, a third revision in 2002 and the 4th Edition of The Complete Guitar" was just released in January 2012. This instruction program has been used by thousands of students in the Treasure Valley since the mid 1980's.
