Hi, everyone! My name is Peggy. I am a professional musician that loves teaching beginner voice, guitar and piano, as well as stage performance and vocally producing a singer in the recording studio. I also enjoy giving vocal and stage performance guidance to not only individuals, but duos/groups/bands.Teaching and sharing my experience with others has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done, excluding becoming a mother…and yes, I have been through the different stages of a child who loves to sing, making all state choir and then going on to The University of North Texas as a vocal performance music major. I have been singing since I was 4 years old. My guitar and piano playing came much later as I got tired of being dependent on someone else to play for me as a singer. I like the guitar the most, therefore I enjoy teaching it the most, as it is portable and it just speaks to me…but, I find the piano to be one of the most important instruments to learn, giving an all encompassing foundation to music, even at a basic level.
Music is a gift that enriches the performer as well as the listener. It can be experienced privately or shared with others. No matter the level of learning, it inspires, delights, calms the soul, increases confidence and can bring healing to both physical and emotional wounds. And, in case you didn’t know, music is medicine for the brain! I have observed dramatic results through the treatment of music therapy in people stricken with Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, car accidents resulting in brain injury to anxiety and depression. Music-a healthy and healing phenomenon to experience...
Many of us wish we were more creative. But, we find our lives so busy that we don't allow ourselves the time to unleash the artist within. Music is a wonderful and healthy way to express what is in our heart, mind, and in the depths of our soul. When we open ourselves to exploring our creative side wonderful things will happen. So, be prepared! My knowledge comes from formal, private training and by doing and living as a professional lead singer/performer over the years in various prominent bands based out of Houston, in which there has been some travel within the United States. I have had lead roles in musical theatre productions and also worked at a recording studio of which I became part of the audio post production, original music and sound design world…in other words a little of this and a little of that…racking up some wonderful memories over the years!
Experience Teaching:
My lessons are centered around the student-their wants and needs. If they do not have strong self direction I am intuitive at designing the lessons to be fun and enjoyable, while at the same time giving them the necessary tools, starting with the basics and quickly ramping up to playing and/or singing some of their favorite songs.
My teaching niche: I find I really enjoy and prefer, for the most part, teaching beginners of all ages. My youngest student has been as young as age 4 and old as age 62! I also have experience teaching, and enjoy teaching, special needs students. I consider myself to be a music appreciation private teacher who’s forte is speaking the language of the beginner. I then, generally, pass the student on to a more specialized instructor, should he/she become quite serious in their playing or singing. My goal is to give the student a strong foundation and confidence. And when it’s time for them to move on and forward, I think, job well done!

Makes learning fun!
My 8 yr old son is a beginner in Guitar and we had a frustrating experience finding the perfect fit in instructors with Taylor Robinson. Then Ms. Peggy came along and things turned around completely. She makes the sessions so much fun! She is meticulous in her teaching attitude, tends to sing along and encourages a free learning spirit. We looks forward to the jamming sessions per week. Simply Amazing !

Fantastic
My son is doing online lessons and it has been fantastic... We live in a small town and don't have access to music lessons.. but Taylor Robinson music lessons makes it possible with their online lessons. Peggy has a gift!
I've been working with Peggy over the last year and it has been wonderful. She has a gift at teaching students in person and online. I was a bit skeptical to take guitar lessons virtually, but she knows the right cues to help you work through any challenge. It's pretty neat. Peggy has a broad understanding of music, and I love how she connects guitar, piano, and voice. Learning to play the guitar is one thing, but learning to play and sing is a whole different adventure. I love that we can work on both. The best part is when she gets sooooo excited for me to do even the littlest things which is so helpful when you're learning to do something way way way new and way out of your wheelhouse. Peggy is Outstanding!
As a child I was told I was tone-deaf, but I always suspected that wasn't true! So after 30 years of never singing when anyone could hear me, I reached out to Peggy. Not only did I learn that I'm NOT tone deaf, Peggy helped me to find my true voice and gain confidence in my ability to sing beautifully with practice! Peggy -Awesome Instructor
Hi, Before being coached by Peggy we had tried few other instructors. But the experience with them had not been good. In fact my son was no longer interested in learning any musical instrument even though he still carried the love for music. However we are fortunate to find Peggy. With her my son is very comfortable and she revigorated my son's confidence in learning to play musical instruments. Peggy is a great tutor and she really cares for her students.
