What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Your first lesson is all about building a comfortable foundation, both in the studio and in your own voice. We'll spend time getting to know your unique instrument and exploring how your voice works through vocal anatomy and healthy technique. I create a supportive environment where you're encouraged to experiment, take risks, and grow with confidence. Expect to start learning how to stretch your vocal range safely, use your breath efficiently, and begin developing a deeper understanding of the music you're singing. Together, we'll integrate music literacy, expression, and technique so that you not only sound better, but become a stronger, smarter musician.

Formal Education:

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance and Audio Technology. During my time in school, I studied vocal pedagogy, music entrepreneurship and organizational leadership.

Performing Experience:

I have had the honor to perform in many diverse roles and incredible productions over the 20 years I have been a singer, including but not limited to: Hairspray Beauty and the Beast The Robber Bridegroom Carrie Next to Normal Elf Seussical Annie Legally Blonde Thoroughly Modern Millie Xanadu Le Nozze Di Figaro La traviata Dido and Aeneas Il Barbiere di Siviglia Rigoletto

Experience Teaching:

I have served as a Voice Coach, Music Director and Assistant Theatre Director, supporting a wide range of student productions and performance training. As Voice Coach, I provided one-on-one and ensemble vocal instruction, emphasizing healthy technique, stylistic accuracy and character-driven vocal choices across musical theater and classical repertoires. In my role as Music Director, I led vocal rehearsals, collaborated with instrumentalists and oversaw musical preparation for full-scale productions, ensuring both artistic excellence and ensemble cohesion. As Assistant Theatre Director, I supported the development of staging, character work and rehearsal planning, contributing to the creative direction and educational experience of each production. This dynamic position required deep interdisciplinary collaboration, adaptability, and a commitment to nurturing young performers in both their technical skills and artistic identities. As a freelance voice teacher, I have spent the past seven years working with a diverse range of students through private in-home lessons, a dedicated home studio, and partnerships with public school music programs. I specialize in helping singers develop healthy, sustainable technique across classical, contemporary, jazz and musical theater styles. My approach blends vocal pedagogy with practical performance coaching, tailoring each lesson to the student’s age, goals and learning style. I’ve prepared students for auditions, competitions and recitals, focusing on vocal health, stylistic authenticity and expressive interpretation. Whether working one-on-one or within school enrichment programs, I prioritize building confidence, musicianship and a lifelong love of singing.
