Review About Me
I have been playing violin since I was 7 years old. Originally I was inspired by my grandad and started learning fiddle from him, performing in competitions in my home state of Texas, playing in jazz and swing bands, and doing a bit of country. My mom is a classical pianist, so classical was also in my life from an early age. I took an interest in learning classical violin because I loved the quality of the sound, artistry, and the vast amount of repertoire. I have taught violin for about ten years now, and I genuinely love helping my students unlock their full potential. As a creative person, I strive to present concepts to students whatever way is necessary to help them understand and succeed.

Beginner - Intermediate
I love tailoring my approach in teaching to the student. I will give my students many things to work on and practice, but I will help them create a practice plan to achieve the goals we are working toward. If the student is willing to follow the practice plan, they will see steady growth and improvement.
Formal Education:
I have studied for about three years under Dr. Rossitza Goza at West Texas A&M. I was pursuing my degree in Violin Performance there. I have recently transferred to UNM since moving to Albuquerque and I am continuing to pursue my Violin Performance degree there.
Private Education:
I studied with violinist Clara Zahler, Juilliard Alum and violinist with the New York Pops. Before that, I had small town private lessons.
Performing Experience:
I have performed in Jazz and Swing bands, West Texas A&M symphony orchestra first violin section, UNM symphony orchestra second violin section, in two different chamber groups at West Texas A&M, solo pieces in recital at West Texas A&M, and in a folk/soul country band.
Experience Teaching:
I have taught ages as young as 5 all the way up to 72. I prefer to do a standard classical regimen to teach, but I also like for students to suggest pieces they are interested in learning as well.
