Music has always been a part of Cheri's Life. As a child she played organ in church and was the drum major and band leader in school, and sang in a band in highschool. Cheri began playing percussion at the age of 25. Over the years, she developed her skills further by studying in several different countries, particularly the cultural traditions of Africa, India and Cuba.. She gained performance experience nationally with acts such as String Cheese Incident, memberss of the Flecktones, In Living Color, and scores of others. Cheri loves world music because of the rich polyrhythms and danceable flavors and loves teaching music as a tool for personal growth and personal development as well as community building.
