Hello! I am Tyler, a multi-instrumentalist specializing in trumpet, piano performance, and music production. I've attended UNM for music since 2021 pursuing a degree in Jazz studies. I've acquired an appreciation for all styles of music and constantly expand my palate. My pedagogy focuses on the experience of playing music and the entire journey, rather than the end goal although those are important too!. Bringing enjoyment to ourselves through music is often more effective as encouragement when maintaining a disciplined practice. Creating a personal relationship with my students has been crucial to their success. My students can trust me to determine areas of improvement, give them accurate information, and empower them to take the initiative in discovering their weaknesses and expanding upon them.
