About Me

Hi, my name is Christopher and I am a musician from Clayton. I have been a student of music for 20 years and have been teaching for around 8 years professionally. My musical influences include everything from Led Zepplin to Metallica, but I also enjoy Stevie Wonder and Stanley Clarke. My teaching style can best be described as relaxed but still professional. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I think the most important thing is make the instruments fun. If the students don't enjoy playing them there is no way they are going to practice. In my lessons, you can expect to learn not only the fundamentals and minute details, but also music theory and song breakdowns. I like to tell my students take your time. Everyone works at there own pace and the worst thing to do is rush and solidify any bad habits. My favorite thing about teaching is watching not only my students skills grow, but also their passion for music as well as their scope of music grow. My favorite performance was performing at the Highline Ballroom in Manhattan with my friends. My students love that I make the lessons fun as well as informative. They also love my patience. I primarily teach Guitar and Bass, but I can also teach Saxophone. My approach as a teacher is to make learning enjoyable and make learning an instrument a much less daunting task.
