About Me
Hey there! I'm Jay they/them! I've been playing musical instruments since I was about 9 years old. I started with piano and began adding from there. In middle school I picked up the alto saxophone and branched from there to learn some of the other instruments that interested me! As a high schooler I was involved in marching band, wind ensemble, jazz ensemble and the musical orchestra pit. This is when I started playing guitar much more seriously as well. From there I attended Shenandoah University where I studied Music Production & Recording Technology. I studied jazz saxophone and classical guitar with a minor in classical piano. I love so many different kinds of music but I always reference The Beatles as my "favorite". They covered so many styles and influences in their music! But I'm generally versed in everything from Shostakovich to Meghan Trainor. I want to instill a love of playing music and make it fun by teaching what YOU want to learn. I'm more than happy to customize my teaching for whatever suits you best as a student! Hope to see you soon!
