Hi, my name is Stephen and I am a bowed strings specialist from St. Louis MO. I have been a student of music for 40 years. My musical influences include Classical, Jazz, R&B, Pop, Blues, Country, Rock, and I also enjoy Bluegrass. My teaching style can best be described as visual and hands-on instrument. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying I continue to learn new ways to demonstrate ways to help students reach a higher potential. In my lessons, you can expect to learn sheet music, sight reading, theory, ear training and much more. I like to tell my they can do anything the out their mind and effort into. My favorite thing about teaching is the “a-ha” moments. My favorite performance was Peter Gabriel’s Secret World. My students love that I break things down to their elements. I primarily teach bass, but I can also teach cello, Violin, and Viola. My approach as a teacher is to bold upon students strengths and encourage growing weaknesses into strengths. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
Stephen N. has over 30 years of music experience in the St. Louis area.
Stephen N. is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Bass Guitar Lessons, Song Writing Lessons, Orchestral Lessons .Degree and Field of Study:
What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
Firm focus on good technique with attention to building a strong foundation for people to grow upon. Students will learn to read sheet music, and progress at their own pace.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
I like to find out the students goals and aspirations and teach to those. If it’s learning a pop tune, I work to give the building blocks to make the goal a reality. I can teach student how to read sheet music if that’s what they desire, or how to play by ear if they desire.
What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
I’ve been performing and teaching bass for over 30 years. Students learn the proper technique to take their passion as far as they want to go.
