I start my students from the fundementals of playing the instrument, building up hand technique, exercises , introduction to reading notation , using the whole set using both feet, rhythm studies with examples of recorded music, playing along with the student, time keeping with the aid of a metronome, suggestions on study, practice and listening material.I have tons of patience with my students, I like to give homework from lesson to lesson and keep a track of their progress.I have a playing room in my house with 2 sets of drums and all percussion instruments.

Sinan Te.- is proficient in and teaches Drum Lessons .Formal Education:
I studied the piano for two years while in high school.In 1965 I studied classical music at Berlin Academy. In 1969 I got a full scholarship to Berklee college of modern music in Boston Mass.
Private Education:
I had private lessons with Latin percussion artists, Manny Oquendo,Nicky Marrero,Ramon Rodriguez, and Johnny Almendra.
Performing Experience:
Starting at the age of 15 I danced, played drums and played in Jazz trios in Turkey and Europe. From 1969 I was strictly in Jazz trios and quintets in NYC with musicians like Charles Brakeen, William Parker, David Ware, Clyde Cotten, James Lott. Then starting in 1975 to 2002 I played percussion in a Latin band in NYC with various salsa bands.
Experience Teaching:
I've given jazz drumming and latin percussion private lessons in NYC and Latin percussion lessons in Sullivan county.
