As a freelance tutor, most of my educational experience comes from working with my High School orchestra teachers. During my time in the orchestra program, I spearheaded reform in my schools musical curriculum. My instructor and I organized a new class with curriculum centered around music history, song writing, and creative expression. Through this experience my instructors taught me the fine points of retaining student attention, and clearly communicating lessons.

My performance experience began when I was 7 years old. My very first performance was before I even started studying music, simply singing at a Christmas pagent in an old folks club in Oklahoma. Performing in orchestra recitals was so frequent through my childhood that I had grown bored of playing with large groups and began spending time on the Colorado Springs independent scene. During my senior summer I gained possibly my most infamous performance experience with my band "Wilted Greens". We played countless shows before splitting up, starting at Sunshine Studios and ending at the Black Sheep. Stopping at almost every venue we could find along the way. We even began building our own portable venue rig, and hosting events entirely independently.

While never formally employed as a teacher, I have many experiences as a peer tutor. Through my High School years, I taught many of my fellow students the lessons I'd yearned for from the school's programs, and never received. My instructors took notice to my educational coup as their students began coming to me before the school's program, so they gave me many opportunities to give lectures and coach students. At the end of my High School career, my instructor and I used the philosophy of my tutoring lessons to design the curriculum for what's now a full class at Doherty High School.
