About Me

Hi, my name is Darrian and I am a Guitarist from Cincinnati, Ohio, and currently residing in Atlanta, Ga. I have been a student of music for 13 years. My musical influences include Jubu Smith, Barry White, and Santana, and I also enjoy playing piano/keyboard. My teaching style can best be described as simple and an easy to grasp concept. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I help the student find their sound with their own hands. Like how a singer finds their pitch with their own voice. In my lessons, you can expect to learn the formula for how I visualize the fretboard, and how you can remember this said tool to the point that it becomes part of your culture. I like to tell my students even if you make a mistake, take that mistake as a learning lesson instead. My favorite thing about teaching is I have the pleasure of relating to the students to the point that I was where they were in my struggles as a guitar player coming up. My favorite performance was my college performance playing at the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame. My students love that I more than one way to breakdown the lesson plan to where they are able to understand. I primarily teach guitar and guitar theory, but I can also teach piano and music theory. My approach as a teacher is to give my students an understanding of music to once they become a master they'll have their own understanding. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
