About Me

Hi, my name is Dobbi, and I am a bassist, initially from Iowa. I have been a student of music for 16 years. I primarily teach bass guitar but can also teach guitar. My favorite thing about teaching is offering fun insight into a field that fosters creativity and individuality. The teaching style I employ is student-centric, meaning that the class materials will match the needs of the student, thus allowing each student to grow in a way that best suits their position in the learning process. My approach as a teacher is to use practicality and compassion. In my lessons, it is typical to study music theory, go over exercises/warm-ups, alongside many other aspects related to bass and music. I took private lessons with a seasoned bass teacher for two years in high school.

Performing Experience:

I've been performing for audiences on bass for 12 years. In Chicago alone, I've gotten to play at Cobra Lounge, Subterranean, Bottom Lounge, The Elbow Room, Gman Tavern, and many more venues elsewhere.
