My name is Max, and I am a musician originally from Des Moines, and have spent the past 5 years in Nashville playing live, recording music, teaching SoR, Highschool Drumline Instructor and engineering and producing music. I have played a very wide variety of music from jazz to funk pop rock fusion latin metal punk soul mowtown R and B samba, bossa nova, and many many more. My personal teaching philosophy boils down to knowing what you are doing and why you are doing it. The greatest musicians in the world have the most insane chops, with an even more impressive level of control. Knowing when to make a statement and when to support the other musicians is so crucial and i feel it is not focused on enough and I make sure my students understand how what they play impacts everyone else around them.
