Spencer has always loved music from an early age. He began playing guitar at the age of 13 and continued his education playing open mics and gigs in bars and wineries. His musical influences include Doc Watson, Billy Strings, and Jerry Reed. Spencer's favorite thing about music is the sense of community and belonging one can derive, while also fostering something to be proud of yourself for and his favorite thing about teaching music is the sharing of music with each other. One of his favorite teaching experiences was seeing his student maintain practicing schedules and their own relationship with the instrument.
