About Me

I’m a Chicago-based music producer, piano technician, and multi-instrumentalist. I have strong fundamentals in classical and jazz that I incorporate with 20 years of electronic music production experience to create music in every genre from opera to trap to ska. Developing a fluid understanding of music theory alongside the recording technology allows for students to start creating tangible things quickly, with recordings they can take home, listen to, and share. Music is recording these days, and our lessons will reflect that. Whatever kind of music the student wishes to make, we will figure out how to make those sounds. I believe in living a life worth writing a song about, which is an esoteric concept that is hard to teach. Music is more than notes and lyrics, however. Even life experience isn’t enough without the necessary self-reflection to distill and integrate the roller coaster of life into something beautiful. What I hope to impart is a mindset for creation that moves away from just trying to look cool and steers towards telling one’s observations and stories as they pop up in life. Turning true experience into music to share feelings with others is the whole point. When done correctly, it is the coolest thing a person can do. Lets be our authentic creative selves and become cooler than ever!
