Hi! My name is Linda and I am from Santa Fe. I am a retired elementary music teacher with 24 years experience teaching in the Santa Fe Public Schools. I also have taught periodically at the Santa Clara Pueblo and at various private schools in Santa Fe. I have always incorporated my guitar in my teaching style. After my retirement from SFPS, I went back to school at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design for a 2nd degree in Contemporary Music. I presently perform with two different groups: I play guitar and sing in a 4 member classic rock band called 33 1/3, and I play guitar, keyboards, and sing with a trio which includes a flutist and a bassist called Liquid Silver. I enjoy playing many genres besides contemporary, rock, and folk, including world music, particularly Brazilian and Irish. My favorite thing about music is the sheer joy of being transported from daily life to creative spaces for self-expression and the teamwork of playing in ensemble. I feel I am best suited to teach beginning and/or intermediate students. Thank you for letting me share and hope to meet you soon!
