Hi, my name is Thomas, and I'm from Sioux Falls, SD. I recently moved down here to Texas just last May. I've been a student of music and guitar my entire life. I grew up on Classic/80s Rock, Van Halen, Poison, Bon Jovi, etc. As I've grown older, I've also come to love indie rock, like The 1975 or The Band Camino, and heavier acts like Pierce the Veil and Sleeping with Sirens. When it comes to teaching, I like to keep things from the heart. It's all about encouraging creativity and helping students find their own musical voice while still focusing on the basics. You have to know both the technical side of things and how to apply that knowledge to the music you're passionate about. It might sound corny, but the journey is just as important, if not more important, than the destination. It's all about the mistakes we make and what we make of them. One of my favorite performances was when I played with my band at The Buffalo Chip opening for Poison—it felt like everything came together perfectly. I primarily teach guitar, but I can also teach bass and music theory if needed. My approach as a teacher is to make sure lessons feel comfortable and relevant to you, with a focus on what you want to achieve.
