Hello, my name is Ryan, I have been playing guitar for over 15 years, and just finished a masters degree in materials engineering. I love teaching and have done it since I could have a job. From from age 15-21 I taught swim lessons to all age groups and skill levels. In grad school I was a TA twice, and had both an entire lab section and discussion session to myself. I very much enjoy seeing students progress in something they feel might be difficult or even impossible. We also conducted outreach to local middle and elementary schools, so I have experience teaching at all age levels. While I have never taught guitar lessons formally, I have a good idea of how I would like to teach. I learned guitar on the blues, and I think the ability to start improvising quickly with pentatonic scales is the key to getting new players off the ground and running quickly.
