Lloyd started playing the guitar at the age of 15. The following decade he improved his guitar playing skills by constantly learning new songs and tricks, playing in bands and group settings, alongside going to Oregon State University for a Bachelor of Science in Music where he also learned how to record and produce. In his tenure at OSU he was a part of the school’s Guitar Ensemble where he took on classical guitar arrangements in a group setting and also undertook the fundamentals of music theory courses. Even though Lloyd can teach many different genres of music, his personal favorite musical style is rhythm and blues which has had the greatest influence on his guitar playing. Lloyd loves music due to its ability to capture emotions and feelings that can resonate within people everywhere and he loves teaching music because he believes everyone needs a creative outlet and that music can be played by anybody.
