About Me
Hi! I'm Lucie, a classical voice major at Oberlin Conservatory. I have a passion for music that I believe brings people together, and I bring a wide range of experience to my teaching. I've worked in church choirs and as a freelance musician. I have also busked at different venues around Brooklyn (including Casita of Brooklyn in Park Slope), and I have taught guitar to students before. I’m dedicated to helping my students feel confident in themselves and in their music. I strongly believe in collaboration-and learning to "jam" together is part of my curriculum. Outside of music, I’m a big animal lover and always strive to create a relaxed, welcoming environment for my lessons. I'm happy to work with your schedule and even travel to your home for lessons. Let’s make beautiful music together!

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

The main aspect of my teaching includes collaboration. Singing is not only about sounding good, but working in tandem with the musicians and the world around you. My teaching style is very hands on-the goal for my students is to gain confidence in their voice and abilities while building the basic skills needed for singing songs in any style or genre. I bring a guitar with me to every lesson, and a large chunk of my lessons include "jamming" together. (A skill every musician needs, really!) In addition to this, I will teach proper breath technique, a healthy singing technique that encourages the natural voice of every student, and improving students ability to match pitch and sing in tune. For more experienced students, I can teach how to harmonize, and how to take music-making to the next level-through learning what makes a singer unique and how to bring out each students personal strengths.
