Hi! My name is Sam ! I am from Maui, Hawaiʻi where I was born and raised! I began ukulele lessons at age 9 and became serious about the instrument around age 12. I traveled and performed with a youth Hawaiian music ensemble lead by my instructor which sparked my passion for performing. In high school, I diligently transferred my ukulele knowledge to the guitar which I went on to focus on for my college degree. I studied performance and composition in college and have since toured the country with various acts, including Max Ribner & 1st Language, which first brought me to Ohio for a music festival 3 years ago. I also avidly record, perform and promote my own singer-songwriter compositions as a one-man band, jumping all summer from music festival to music festival throughout the Midwest. I play at restaurants and unique events including multiple times performing in a canoe to a group float down the Little Miami. I read music, understand music theory thoroughly, and am proficient with guitar, ukulele, my voice, piano, drums, and even flute! I am happy to be in Ohio for another consecutive year and would love the opportunity to give back to this community that has been supportive of my music. Mahalo
