Hello!! My name is Isaac, and I live for music!! I have been singing since before I can remember, and have been playing the Piano about 16 years. I’ve taught myself all percussion instruments while in High School, as well as a little bit of ukulele. :) I have been in more performances than I can remember, since about the age of 7, and I have an incredibly fiery passion for educating! I have been working with kids in various Church settings since I was a kid myself, and have been a special needs adult educator for the last 2.5 years. I have given various piano, voice, and percussion lessons, to kids from my home church, and now I am trying to branch out! So-if you’re looking for a teacher who’s worked hard to create a judgement-free zone, who’s excited and passionate about what they’re teaching, who’s endlessly encouraging and works with you wherever you’re at in your musical journey, who truly enjoys learning their student and how to best coach them? Beginner - Intermediate
I love setting an achievable goal with my students-typically a song they want to learn by a certain timeframe. I use a series of scales to teach basic 1-3-5 chords, which is incredibly effective, and sounds really good! Especially for first-timers. I also use a series of work books that I myself used when I was taking piano lessons as a child. I don’t love making my students sit at a piano bench or music stand, and have them write a bunch of stuff down, when they’re there to learn how to sing or play! However, some of these pages are incredibly beneficial when trying to learn basic theory and rhythm, so I try to incorporate them wherever necessary, while allowing the student to still explore and learn for themselves, all while having as much fun as possible!!
