Hi there! I’m Jonah, and I’m passionate about making music fun and exciting for everyone! With over ten years of teaching experience, I love helping students discover their own unique musical voices. I started playing the piano when I was 15 years old, and I’ve been hooked on music ever since! After earning my degree in Music Education, I jumped right into the classroom, eager to share my love of music with kids. My teaching style is all about energy and engagement! I use games, technology, and hands-on activities to make every lesson lively and enjoyable. I believe that music is not just about learning notes; it’s about expressing who you are! When I’m not in the classroom, you can find me spending time with my lovely wife Michaela and our two dogs, Scout and Luna. I love to spend time hiking and kayaking every chance I get. I explore all kinds of music, from classical to hip-hop, to show my students the wide world of sound. My goal is to inspire confidence, creativity, and a love for music in every one of my students! What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
When students take piano lessons from me, they can expect a fun and supportive learning environment where they will develop essential skills such as reading music, playing by ear, and understanding music theory. Each lesson will be tailored to their individual interests and skill levels, allowing them to explore a variety of musical styles. Students will also have the opportunity to set personal goals and gain confidence in their playing, all while enjoying the journey of learning music!
Formal Education:
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Toccoa Falls College.
Private Education:
I have taken private piano and voice lessons for 15+ years.
Performing Experience:
I have performed as a church pianist/accompanist for 16 years. My performances have been both private and collegiate with voice and piano. I have toured and performed with college choirs for 5+ years.
Experience Teaching:
I have been teaching private lessons for 10+ years., and I enjoy teaching lessons from adolescent to adult ages.
