I have always had a strong passion for music. I have been so lucky to make it a permanent fixture in my life. I have been part of so many amazing choirs and had incredible opportunities. I have sung with Richmond Ballet for their production of The Nutcracker for three years. I have been a member and manager of Vox Concordia for three and two years respectively. Commonwealth Singers is a choir I have been a member of for two years and toured with. I have had opportunities to sing abroad and at Carnegie Hall. I adore music and education. Sharing the gift of Music with others is something that brings me indescribable joy. I think everyone should be able to learn music. Music can help express the inexpressible and connect to a deeper part of ourselves. It can be a tool, not unlike the paintbrush, once we know how to use it, it may offer a world of technique and expression. A tool we may use to better understand ourselves and those around us. I believe all people should have access to that. There is no student unworthy, or too difficult, or not worth investing in. There is no such thing as a bad voice or un-musical person. Every student deserves our best, our respect, and our passion for music. In my classroom, I center my teaching around inclusion, curiosity, and fun. I always encourage my students to dig deeper into the music, to challenge themselves, and to always find the joy in their craft even when it is hard.
