Be prepared to talk about what genre of music you want to write for, and what you want to do with your songs. We'll assess your singing, instrument playing, and recording capability. None of these need to be perfect or even close to the professional level; we are here to learn after all! We'll also discover a few things about your learning, and writing style to help you get started. Based on your learning style and goals, we'll develop an individualized curriculum to get you to your songwriting goals!

These lessons are good for absolute beginners, or students with less than a year of training. The first lesson will be an introduction to how we place our hands on the keyboard, then depending on the student's learning style and goals, an individual curriculum will be developed to get the student to basic keyboard proficiency.

For the first lesson, be prepared to talk about what kind of music you want to sing, and what your goals are. We'll assess your vocal range, get started with vocal exercises, and pick the first song you'll be working on! Based on your voice type and learning style, we'll develop an individualized curriculum that will get you to your singing goals.
