Ryanis a jazz percussionist with an active career as a live performer, recording artist, composer, arranger, and educator. A versatile musician conversant in a wide range of styles, Ryan has worked with Bob Mintzer, Jody Sellers, Chris Calloway, George Colligan, Rick DellaRatta, Michael Kocour, Russ Schmidt, and many others. As a former member of the Scottsdale Community College Jazz Orchestra, Ryan has performed on stage with John Clayton, John Hollenbeck, Meguel Zenon, George Garzone, and Marshall Gilkes. He has an abiding interest in many forms of popular music and enjoys working with students who are new to improvisation.

What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Snare drum technique is essential for every percussionist, regardless of the style of music they perform. Rudimental drumming and hand technique will be explored along with dynamics and performing at various tempos. I will tailor private lessons to the interests and needs of my students. I love to focus on personal expression and creativity as much as possible.
Formal Education:
Ryan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Percussion Performance and a Master’s degree in Jazz Performance from Arizona State University.
Private Education:
Ryan has studied privately with Dave King, Bill Goodwin, and Dom Moio.
