What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Lessons are designed to be fun and engaging, making the learning process enjoyable well constantly pushing this students to make real progress. We will build a strong foundation by exploring music theory, sight reading, ear training, and rhythm, primarily within The tradition of classical piano. You can expect a supportive and encouraging environment that also provides a gentle challenge to help you reach your full musical potential.
Formal Education:
Benjamin holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Georgia State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy at the same institution. His academic training has provided him with a strong foundation in both performance and teaching, supported by advanced coursework in piano literature, technique, and instructional methodology.
Private Education:
Benjamin studied classical piano privately with Hillary Kruh from 2006 to 2012, followed by instruction under Nick Rosen from 2012 to 2017. Throughout these formative years, he developed a strong technical foundation and deep interpretive understanding of classical repertoire. These personalized lessons played a significant role in shaping his musicianship and continue to influence his thoughtful, student-centered approach to teaching.
Performing Experience:
My personal connection to the piano is strengthened through occasional performances at smaller venues. This active engagement not only deepens my musical understanding but also provides me with current insights and practical experiences to enrich my students lessons.
Experience Teaching:
Benjamin has been teaching piano since 2018, primarily in a private studio setting. He instructs students of all ages and skill levels, focusing on classical piano repertoire and technique. Through personalized and patient guidance, he aims to nurture each student’s musical growth and foster a lifelong appreciation for the art of piano performance. In addition, he works as a teacher assistant at Georgia State University, teaching piano to undergraduate students.
