About Me
Hi, my name is Andrew and I am a multi-instrumentalist from Ocean City, MD. I first began learning to play guitar over 15 years ago and never put it down. Since then, I learned to play many more instruments, performed in bands in Baltimore, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia. I have also written and recorded my own music and released it on Spotify, Apple Music, and all other digital streaming services. I currently play lead guitar and backup vocals for Grimm Winter in Washington D.C. and I coach musicians looking to go beyond learning an instrument and perform in their communities through my company, Strums to Stage. Check out our YouTube channel for tips and tricks around guitar performance, songwriting, and music production: My musical influences primarily revolve around energetic, guitar driven music, so primarily Rock and Metal, but I also enjoy R&B and Blues. I also dabble in Electronic Music production. I have taught private lessons and band rehearsals for over 5 years and My students have described me as patient, adaptable, and knowledgeable. My teaching philosophy can best described as meeting you where you are in your musical journey and preparing you towards your next goal, not the endgame. A similar comparison would be to rock climbing. If we are just focusing on a beginner wall, I will not overload you with tips and tricks to climb Mount Everest. We will work toward the next goal and then tackle Mount Everest when we get there. Here are a couple of testimonials from previous students: "As an older adult beginner, I appreciated Andrew's infinite patience in teaching me, not only the bass from scratch, but aspects of theory that applied to the music I was playing. He always suggested alternative approaches, if I couldn't manage to master a riff in the beginning. And, jamming together with him was great fun!-Barbara L.” "I worked with Andrew for over a year and had no musical background. While I came to him for bass instructions, we evolved to doing both bass and drum instruction. I learned a lot from him as he was patient and adaptable throughout the process. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a musical instructor.-Rohit S.” Thanks for taking a look at my profile and I look forward to meeting you soon!
